Our team at Ott Brother’s Painting recently completed a new construction painting project in Pitman, NJ for a clients brand new home. Our initial step involved close collaboration with the homeowner, particularly for the cedar posts, which we stained to the exact color of their choice. For these natural wood elements, we utilized Woodscapes from Sherwin Williams, a product specifically formulated to enhance and protect wood’s natural beauty. The warm look of these stained columns adds great character to the home’s facade.
The extensive Azek trim throughout the exterior demanded careful preparation. Before any paint was applied, our team diligently prepped all surfaces. We then painted all the new Azek white, using Sherwin Williams SuperPaint satin exterior Pure White for its excellent adhesion and durability on synthetic materials. An important part of our process was ensuring all nail holes were filled and all joints were thoroughly caulked prior to painting. This attention to detail prevents moisture intrusion and ensures a smooth, continuous appearance. The crisp white trim beautifully defines the home’s lines.
To maintain a cohesive aesthetic, the walk-out basement doors were also painted white, seamlessly integrating them into the overall design. For high-impact areas that serve as focal points, like the inviting front entrance, we employed a premium approach. The front door, its elegant sidelights, and the garage man door received three coats of Sherwin Williams Latitude in Tricorn Black with a satin finish. This robust application of a top-tier product guarantees not only a striking visual statement but also exceptional durability against weather and wear. The deep black of the entry door creates a welcoming focal point.
